Bill has lived in Cayman for almost 30 years gaining knowledge and experience of the Cayman Islands. Bill is well traveled in North and South America, Canada and the Caribbean. He has a very good understanding of other real estate markets and can therefore, easily explain the similarities and subtle differences here in Cayman.


Biography

Bill was born in Vancouver, Canada and grew up in the Cayman Islands. Bill’s father, the late Keith Baldwin, was one of the original developers in Cayman and a key part of today’s tourism industries. Keith started coming to Cayman in the mid 1960’s and decided to move the family here in 1980.

Bill dedicated 6 years of his life to one of America's most renowned Military Schools, where he excelled and achieved the highest ranks and honors. During this time Bill learned the benefits of discipline, order and high values, which he successfully applies to all aspects of his life.

In 1992, Bill took over the reigns of the family business "ABC Liquor" and turned it into “Blackbeard’s Rum Company”, which became a leading Caymanian and World renowned Rum and Rum Cake producer. The company also specialized in the importation, wholesale and retail of popular beers, wines and spirits from around the World. In fifteen years, Blackbeard's grew to over 40 staff with numerous offices, production facilities, warehouses and retail stores throughout the Cayman Islands. Blackbeard’s quickly became one of Cayman’s true success stories and one of very few local exports.

In early 2007, Bill, with the intentions of taking Blackbeard's to the next level, agreed to merge Blackbeard’s with “Island Companies”, another well respected Caymanian company. After 15 years at Blackbeard’s Bill has relinquished his day-to-day responsibilities to enable him to follow in his father’s footsteps and get back to his families roots in real estate.

With his local contacts, local knowledge and business background, Bill has become a valuable asset to RE/MAX Cayman Islands. Bill plans to utilize his experience and continue his success in his chosen career path.


Personal Distinctions

Hobbies: Bill enjoys new technologies, up-to-date software and the latest gadgets. He is a multi-engine pilot, a sailing instructor and an advanced SCUBA diver. Bill is very interested in good food and fine wines and is happy to share his local favorites with you!

Civic Activities: Bill is a proud member of the Cayman Islands Real Estate Brokers Association (CIREBA), Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce, the Cayman Islands Sailing Club and the Cayman Islands Flying Club.
